Tim Cotterill, also known as THE FROGMAN, was born in Leicester, England in 1950 and left school at age fifteen to complete a six year engineering apprenticeship. This education provided a sound base for his subsequent career in the arts.
Although he started out sculpting radical wheeled vehicles, he quickly realized that his interest and inspiration lay in animals and birds. He had already sold over 1,000 original steel, bronze, and gold sculptures world wide before relocating his studio to the U.S.A.
Cotterill’s trademark bronze frog sculptures capture the whimsical character, the jewel like quality, and the pure joy of these beautiful little creatures. The limited edition pieces have a hand-finished patina and are individually signed and numbered by the artist. Cotterill has also produced a series of limited edition bronze Koi fish and Geckos.
Frogs are fun creatures I have tried to capture their individual spirit; their fun and their joy. Life is fun! I hope my art brings more happiness and joy into your life.”
