Original Jewelry Designs Cast in Sterling Silver & Gold - Rings, Earrings, Pendants, Pins and Bracelets
I have spent the last 20 years of making jewelry in my studio, primarily designing pieces with organic motifs. The woods and fields have been my source of inspiration, and I like to think of these pieces as tangible symbols of our sustaining relationship with the natural world. I do all casting, molding, and finish work myself, and have developed a line of multiples of earrings, rings, and necklaces.
In the last year of so I've tried to concentrate on more one-of-a-kind work, and have begun a series which interprets adages from a quilt I inherited from my great grandmother, Sarah Wright. Each of the 72 squares of the quilt is embroidered with an adage. In this series I am interpreting each adage as some form of amulet or talisman, in this way passing on her words of wisdom and protection.
